Our Impact

“After attending the psychosocial group, I realized that many refugees were going through a lot like me, we all have almost similar symptoms of distress, and I realized that we all need each other to become stronger even when we’re not related.” - Friends of Kisoro Client

Throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic, FROK’s social workers served over 500 clients in the Kisoro community, providing comprehensive services including individual and group counseling, advocacy, follow-up care and material support. FROK also reached hundreds more people through radio broadcasts, providing psycho-education on topics related to mental health and COVID-19.

In 2019, for every 2,100 clients, there were 2 FROK social workers providing direct services.

“After talking to you, I feel happy and comfortable when I’m sitting outside your office even if you aren’t there. I feel more safe and happy there. I don’t know what could have happened if I had not met a kind hearted person like you who welcomes strangers as if you have known them before.”
